The AnX Team of engineers, technical employees and business managers have significant experience in startups, early-stage companies, and globalization including expertise with capsule endoscopy, artificial intelligence, and advanced robotics among other industry experience.
Dr. Joe Xiao, Cofounder, President and CEO
Joe Xiao, CEO of ANKON Technologies and co-founder of AnX Robotica, is a serial entrepreneur with a proven track record of success in the medical technology sector. He founded Argus Medical in 2014, later acquired by MicroPort Medical (Shanghai) Group in one of China’s top 10 medical device M&A transactions in 2021. Joe also co-founded Accunome Sciences in 2018. With leadership experience at ARASOR and AVANEX, Joe brings extensive expertise to AnX Robotica. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering-Electro Optics from the University of Central Florida and has authored numerous patents.
Dr. David Duan, Cofounder and CTO
Dr. David Duan, co-founder and CTO, is a seasoned technology leader with extensive experience. He holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering physics from Tsinghua University and a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Central Florida. With key roles at Nwayton Inc, Talco Systems Inc, Intelligent Imaging Inc, and Oclaro, Inc, David has garnered expertise in magnetism, materials science, optoelectronic technology, communication technology, and digital processing. His prolific career includes hundreds of patents and continues to drive innovation at AnX Robotica.
Dr. Thomas Wang, Board Member
Dr. Thomas Wang, a board member of the company, is an entrepreneur for innovation on medical device. He is co-founder of Ankon Technologies and Argus Medical. He serves as Executive Vice President of Ankon Technologies, specializing in commercialization of medical device with image systems, electronics, and automation. He is an esteemed expert in medical electronics and artificial intelligence for medical devices. He holds a doctorate in Physics Electronics and Optoelectronics from Tsinghua University.
Stu Wildhorn, Vice President, Marketing and Product Management
Stu Wildhorn is a seasoned executive with 40 years of experience in the medical device industry. As Chief Scientific Officer at Diversatek Healthcare, he was instrumental in market and product development efforts in the functional GI space and forged key partnerships. Previously, as Vice President and General Manager at Sandhill Scientific, Stu oversaw operations as well as global sales and marketing activities. His career also includes leadership roles at Milestone Scientific, a medical device manufacturer specializing in innovative injection technologies and Datex-Ohmeda, where he drove innovation and achieved business success in the patient monitoring segment.
Dr. Ruediger Nigbur, Vice President and General Manager, EMEA
Ruediger is an accomplished Medical Device Executive with over 25 years of experience in Life Sciences of both entrepreneurial and corporate backgrounds. Ruediger runs our operations in Europe, Middle East and Africa. He has tremendous experience with capsule endoscopy and introduced the technology to the European market. While working for Given Imaging, Covidien and Medtronic he helped to establish capsule endoscopy as a primary diagnostic tool for the examination of the small bowel. Ruediger is a trained physician who is not only dedicated to improving patient outcome but also to facilitating the daily routine of physicians and nurses. Following these personal drivers Ruediger joined AnX Robotica. He wants to help raising capsule endoscopy to the next level by introducing AI to the world of capsule endoscopy.
Ray Bengermino, Vice President Sales, US
Ray Bengermino is a distinguished professional with over 30 years of award-winning experience in sales and sales management, in the medical device sector. His expertise spans across introducing new technologies to the market, capital equipment sales, and negotiating with high-level executives. Bengermino has a proven track record of driving sales growth, managing and expanding distributor networks, and developing successful teams. His roles have included significant positions at Mederi Therapeutics Inc., Given Imaging Inc., Viking Systems Inc., Curon Medical Inc., Sandhill Scientific Inc., BioCor Inc., and San-I-Pak Inc., showcasing his ability to exceed sales quotas and foster relationships with key industry stakeholders.
Tim Thomas, Vice President, Regulatory, Quality and Clinical Affairs
With over 45 years of experience in the medical device industry, Tim is a seasoned leader in Regulatory, Quality, and Clinical departments. He joined AnX Robotica following his role as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs for Respiratory, Gastrointestinal, & Informatics (RGI) at Medtronic. Prior to Medtronic, Tim held senior positions at Given Imaging, Dornier MedTech, Neotonus, and Genzyme. He holds an MBA in Engineering Management from the University of Dallas and a BS in Chemistry and Mathematics from the University of Central Arkansas. Tim is also certified by the Regulatory Professional Society (RAC), the American Society of Quality (CQE, CQA), and brings extensive expertise to the team.
